Useless Knowledge

Did you know that Vermont and Kentucky were the only two states add stripes to the American Flag as well as a star? For a short spell in the 1790's Old Glory had fifteen stripes as well as fifteen stars.
Apparantly, the powers of that time saw that as more and more states joined the union, the flag would take on a decidedly "pink" tone as the stripes got thinner and thinner. So with the admission of Tennessee to the union, they reverted back to the original 13 stripes and continued adding the stars.
Take it in.
